{"id":943,"date":"2014-07-19T11:34:50","date_gmt":"2014-07-19T16:34:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/?p=943"},"modified":"2014-07-19T13:44:10","modified_gmt":"2014-07-19T18:44:10","slug":"disney-2014-tips","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/disney-2014-tips\/","title":{"rendered":"Disney 2014 Tips"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/wd056wdw201414578596774_6989271259_18.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-951 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/wd056wdw201414578596774_6989271259_18-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Mom, Jennifer and the boys\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>In May, we had a great family trip with my mom meeting us for a few days. \u00a0<\/span>Our really good friends (that have 3 girls), the Greers were with us for the entire trip.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">We love to talk Disney and always have friends asking us questions, so here are a few of our favorite tips from this trip.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Electric Parade at Magic Kingdom:<\/strong> we found a good spot close to Liberty Square by the Heritage House (which is right across from the Christmas store).\u00a0 We probably showe<\/span><\/span>d up less than 30 minutes before the parade found a great spot.<span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_3676.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-947 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_3676-500x375.jpg\" alt=\"Pete and Elliot (from Pete's Dragon)\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_3676-500x375.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_3676-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_3676-400x300.jpg 400w, http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_3676.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><strong>Tangled:<\/strong> one of the \u201cnew\u201d areas in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_3684.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-948 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_3684-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_3684\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>recent expansion of Fantasyland pays tribute to Corona (the kingdom in Tangled). \u00a0It is located between the Haunted Mansion and Peter Pan (where there use to be a huge stroller parking. \u00a0It isn\u2019t a large area, but worth the visit at night to see the lanterns. \u00a0You also can see Rapunzel\u2019s tower.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Norway in Epcot:<\/strong> Kringla Bakeriog Kafe has an UNBELIEVABLE quick service meal. We ate there twice. Normally with a quick service meals you get a entree and dessert or side, but not both. In Norway, you get both because &#8220;everyone gets pastries in Norway!&#8221; I was told, by a Norwegian !<\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0205.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-958\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0205-500x331.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"331\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0205-500x331.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0205-300x198.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0205-453x300.jpg 453w, http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0205.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Snack Credits:<\/strong>\u00a0 We had way too many snack credits left this trip, so we stopped at Downtown Disney the day we were leaving and went to the Goofy store which has a lot of homemade style sweet treats (homemade peanut butter cups, for example)<\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_2389.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-957\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_2389-500x375.jpg\" alt=\"Peanut Butter Cup\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_2389-500x375.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_2389-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_2389-400x300.jpg 400w, http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_2389.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><strong>Cinderella\u2019s Royal Table:<\/strong> This dinning experience is a table service and requires two credits per person. \u00a0We wanted to try it before the boys were too old for it and I\u2019m glad we did. It is located in the Castle at Magic Kingdom that doesn\u2019t open normally until 9 am. \u00a0We purposely scheduled our reservation at 8:30 am, which allows us to walk down main street at Magic Kingdom before \u201ceveryone\u201d else is in the park. \u00a0It was fun. It lets us stay out later and miss some of the really hot times during the day. We either rested in the room or went to the pool. There were two days we didn&#8217;t come back to the room for downtime.<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0466.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-944 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0466-500x371.jpg\" alt=\"Fireworks viewed from the room at Bay Lake Tower\" width=\"500\" height=\"371\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0466-500x371.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0466-300x222.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0466-404x300.jpg 404w, http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0466.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a>The day\u00a0we went to Animal Kingdom,\u00a0we planned to leave the park mid afternoon because of a dinner reservation at Chef Mickey (followed by an early bed time, well that was the plan, although we may have stayed up a little later than planned to watch the fireworks from the room :)Our\u00a0second day at Epcot, we decided\u00a0to take\u00a0a boat from Epcot to Beach Club Resort and shared a kitchen sink at Beaches &amp; Cream (quick service side). It turned out to be some good down time and we stayed until Epcot closed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-945 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0561-500x331.jpg\" alt=\"Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream\" width=\"500\" height=\"331\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0561-500x331.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0561-300x198.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0561-453x300.jpg 453w, http:\/\/www.nealbreeding.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0561.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong style=\"color: #000000; font-style: normal;\">Split the parks up:<\/strong> This tips was from our Disney Planner friend <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/disneyplannergrace?fref=ts\" target=\"_blank\">Grace<\/a>. She suggested while at Magic Kingdom and Epcot, (since we had 2 days at each park) to focus on one side one day and the other side the next day).
