One:\u00a0 <\/b>Hey, ________, you ready to go?<\/p>\n

Two:<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 Yes, let’s go.<\/p>\n

One:\u00a0 <\/b>Today has been a lot of fun, we should get out and spend more time without the women, you know, “male bonding.” (grunting noising may be made)<\/i><\/p>\n

Two:<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 Yes, today has been a lot of fun, and I was thinking that we (looking off as if distracted) <\/i>should try to do this again, maybe next– (excitedly)<\/i> hey look over there!<\/p>\n

One:\u00a0 <\/b>Where?\u00a0 (surprisingly) <\/i>Uh ________ we shouldn’t even look over there. (turns body completely around)<\/i><\/p>\n

Two:\u00a0 <\/b>Oh come on, let’s just walk over there for a quick look.\u00a0 Just a little closer. (pulls One a little closer)<\/i><\/p>\n

One:<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0 ________ we really shouldn’t!<\/p>\n

Two:<\/b> ________ it is only <\/span>an ice cream<\/i> shop.<\/p>\n

One:\u00a0 <\/b>But what is in the ice cream <\/span>shop?<\/p>\n

Two:\u00a0 <\/b>Ice Cream of course, are you feeling ok? (by this point One has pulled Two into the ice cream shop)<\/i><\/p>\n

One:\u00a0 <\/b>Yes!\u00a0 I’m feeling just<\/span> fine, and yes I am aware there is ice cream in this ice cream shop!\u00a0 But I don’t think it is a good idea to be looking at all this ice cream?<\/p>\n

Two:\u00a0 <\/b>Look ________, just because we are on that sugar busters <\/i>diet, doesn’t mean we can’t look at the menu, right?<\/p>\n

One:\u00a0 <\/b>But ________ you know sometimes when we\u2013(interrupted by Two)<\/i><\/p>\n

Two:\u00a0 <\/b>Look! They have homemade vanilla, and double chocolate rocky road, and mocha almond fudge!<\/p>\n

One:\u00a0 <\/b>(interrupting)<\/i> ________ we should not be looking at this!\u00a0 I am telling you we are going to end up–\u2013(interrupted by Two)<\/i><\/p>\n

Two:\u00a0 <\/b>(with excitement building)<\/i> And cookies and cream, and chocolate chip cookie dough-(interrupting)<\/i><\/p>\n

One:\u00a0 <\/b>(starts looking around) <\/i>–but we really shouldn’t be looking at this (something catches One\u2019s eye)<\/i>–hey there is Pralines and cream, that has always been my favorite, and it is right next to chocolate peanut butter, which is right next to super-duper, triple-ripple, double-dipped, chocolate peanut butter fudge!\u00a0 Yummy!\u00a0 (realizing what has is happening)<\/i> — what am I doing?\u00a0 ________ we have to stop looking all this ice cream!<\/p>\n

Two:\u00a0 <\/b>________ I told you, just because we are on a diet doesn’t mean–<\/p>\n

One:\u00a0 <\/b>(interrupting)<\/i>–you can’t look at the menu, I know, I know, I heard you the first time, but don’t you think looking at all of this ice cream is going to temp us into wanting–(interrupted by Two)<\/i><\/p>\n

Two:<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0 –Oh look, there is Heavenly Hash, you know how long it has been since I have had that flavor?<\/p>\n

One:<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0 ________ are you even listening to me?<\/p>\n

Two:\u00a0 <\/b>Yes, but I can’t help it! Maybe I’ll just get one of the free<\/i> samples\u00a0 Yea, I need one of those little pink spoons.\u00a0 Yes, just a little sample!<\/p>\n

One:<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0 ________ (in a fatherly tone)<\/i>.\u00a0 You can’t we need to–<\/p>\n

Two:\u00a0 <\/b>With a name like Heavenly<\/span> Hash, it can\u2019t be all <\/span>bad!\u00a0 I don’t think a sample will be enough!\u00a0 I think I want a scoop.\u00a0 Yes, yes, a scoop on a sugar cone!\u00a0 I can already taste it in my mouth!<\/p>\n

One:\u00a0 <\/b>No!\u00a0 (grabbing Two) <\/i>You can’t!<\/p>\n

Two:\u00a0 <\/b>Why can’t I? I just want one little tinny, little bitty, small scoop of ice cream, on a little mi\u00b7nute sugar cone.<\/p>\n

One:\u00a0 <\/b>You can’t because you are on a diet<\/i>!\u00a0 Remember? Now come on!\u00a0 (dragging Two out of the store and to a bench, as Two is being dragged he says)<\/i><\/p>\n

Two:\u00a0 <\/b>(pauses) <\/i>But, I really want… (hesitates & thinks to himself) <\/i>but I, uh, yea, I am.\u00a0 (sheepishly, sitting down) <\/i>Wow, I guess I sort of forgot for a second or two.<\/p>\n

One:\u00a0 <\/b>(joins him sitting)\u00a0 <\/i>Now do you see why I think it would have been a better idea if we would not have even looked<\/span> <\/i>at the <\/i>menu<\/span>?<\/p>\n

Two:\u00a0 <\/b>(pauses to think)<\/i>\u00a0 Yes, I guess you have made your point. <\/i><\/p>\n

One:\u00a0 <\/b>You know the Bible says in James 1:14 & 15 “but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.\u00a0 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”<\/p>\n

Two:\u00a0 <\/b>But it was only<\/i> ice cream?<\/p>\n

One:\u00a0 <\/b>But like the ice cream<\/i> that was temping us, there are things in our lives we watch, hear, read, and are told that may tempt us to sinning.<\/p>\n

Two:\u00a0 <\/b>(catching on and adding to the statement) <\/i>And they can cause us to gossip, be greedy, envious, prideful, or fall into lust.\u00a0 Like we were lusting after that ice cream.<\/p>\n

One:\u00a0 <\/b>Yes!\u00a0 And once we have tasted a little bit, we want more.<\/p>\n

One:\u00a0 <\/b>So I guess we shouldn\u2019t even look at the menu when we are on a diet.<\/p>\n

Two:\u00a0 <\/b>You are right, and we aren\u2019t just talking about ice cream we should stay away from. Let\u2019s get out of here.<\/p>\n
