Bobby Jindal admitted Tuesday that he blundered in allowing legislators to pass a bill that would more than double their base pay.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve learned my lesson,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d he said during a news conference outside the Governor\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Mansion.<\/p>\n<p>However, Jindal said he still plans to allow the pay raise to become law.<\/p>\n<p>Vetoing the bill would give legislators a reason to reverse his initiatives, including changes to the state\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s ethics laws, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Everybody knows it would be in my own self-interest politically to veto this bill,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d he said. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d probably be the most popular governor in modern polling history if I did that.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Jindal said he will be more proactive in the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Going forward, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re certainly going to keep a much tighter rein on the Legislature in future sessions,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Jindal said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>My thoughts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve learned my lesson, actually lessons also:<br \/>\n1) Not to trust what Bobby Jindal promises.\u00c2\u00a0 They carry NO weight with me now.<\/p>\n<p>2) He might say he cares for the State, but if he doesn&#8217;t veto this raise, what he says are only words and those words are meaningless.<\/p>\n<p>3) I will NOT vote or SUPPORT Bobby in the next election or in any other candidacy or ticket he might be on in the future.\u00c2\u00a0 What an embarrassment to our State.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Observation: <\/strong>Bobby Jindal was suppose to be the reform governor for the State of Louisiana.
